This delicious dry red wine is made in a soft, fruity style from a blend of classic red grape varieties. Chasseur is an authentic, quality wine crafted for easy drinking. Its roots go back to 1969, to the historic Cooks Vineyard at Te Kauwhata. Chasseur has built a proud legacy of quality winemaking that still holds strong. Today grapes are sourced from a variety of vineyards giving you unconditional quality you can rely on.

Chocolate, Cassis and mint flavours on the nose. These flavours carry over to the palate with he addition of ripe berry flavours. The parcels of premium Barossa Cabernet Sauvignon used in this wine were open fermented before being gently pressed and racked to barrel.

Aromas of dark berries, blackcurrant, dusty clove, vanilla spices, soft brown sugar and chocolate with a whisper of fruit cake and five spice. Dry on the palate with a core of toasty, baked red berry fruit flavours, medium acidity, moderate tannins and nuances of baking spices and chocolate.

This wine showcases classical Barossa black fruit characters with dark chocolate flavours matured in a combination of French and American Oak barrels. Try with a sizzling BBQ steak.

Church Road Grand Reserve wines are produced only in exceptional vintages. The very best low-cropping vineyard blocks are targeted for selective hand-harvesting to yield wines with the greatest possible flavour, depth and concentration. The Grand Reserve Pinot Noir is wild fermented with a proportion of whole bunches. Dark cherry and sweet berry fruit is lifted by alluring floral and spice notes, complimented by underlying earthy complexity and subtle French oak. On the palate the wine is fine and supple with excellent textural length.

The McDonald Series wines are an expression of both their fruit and the vision of their namesake winemaker. Grown on gravel soils in Hawke's Bays' warmest sub regions, these vineyards typically produce rich Merlot displaying dense, brooding plum and dark berry fruit. This is complimented by subtle notes of violet, spice, earthy undertones and hints of dark chocolate. The palate is rich, weighty and long, driven by a firm yet fine-grained tannin structure. For quality reasons this wine is unfiltered and decanting is recommended.

On the palate, the wine manages both luxuriousness and elegance with a plushness of texture that is supported by silky tannins, drawing the wine out across the back palate and lending great length to the finish.
