Often known as 'Baby Grange', Bin 389 was first created by legendary Penfolds winemaker Max Schubert in 1960, combining the structure of Cabernet Sauvignon with the richness of Shiraz. The 2023 vintage continues this iconic tradition with generous aromas of blackberry, plum, dark chocolate and Black Forest cake, complemented by cinnamon, dried herbs and discreet toasty oak. The palate is full and layered, bringing together red currant, tart cranberry and vanilla with savoury notes of black olive, orange zest and fennel. Inspired by the iconic Bin 707, Penfolds Bin 407 was created to showcase the character of exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon, balancing ripe fruit with structure and depth through Penfolds' multi-region blending and careful use of French and American oak. The 2023 vintage opens with plum and bramble fruits, layered with bay leaf, cedar, toasted spice and Szechuan pepper, while savoury notes of olives and earthy forest floor add intrigue. The palate is tightly coiled and concentrated, with generous red and dark fruit framed by steely tannins, slate-like minerality and a subtle tobacco note. Built for patience, this is a young Bin 407 that will benefit from decanting now and reward extended cellaring through to 2047.

First vintaged in 1964, Penfolds Bin 707 has become a benchmark for Australian Cabernet Sauvignon, embodying the Penfolds House Style through intensely flavoured fruit and maturation in new oak. The 2023 vintage opens with black olive, tobacco and dark cherry, layered with dusty chocolate, barrel-ferment praline, rhubarb and warm cinnamon. The palate follows with blackberry and mulberry alongside savoury pan juices, black olive and exotic spice, with dark chocolate and nutty praline adding richness. Expansive and tightly woven, fine-grained Cabernet tannins provide structure and length, making this a powerful, layered wine with the pedigree to reward cellaring through to 2050.

The Cabernet Sauvignon grape varietal is widely planted across South Australia's premium wine regions, particularly in the Limestone Coast where grapes with tremendous structure and beautiful aromatics are found. Well-regarded since its launch in 2002, the Koonunga Hill Cabernet Sauvignon showcases the merits of multi-regional blending to Penfolds 'House Style'. A bold, full bodied wine displaying lovely aromatics, excellent structure, and great length.

A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon parcels sourced from vineyards throughout the Barossa. The fruit is fermented for up to 14 days, then aged for 12 months in a mix of French and American oak. Individual parcels of fruit are matured separately to maximise the blend's complexity and finalised through a selection process. The resulting wine is rich and concentrated with aromas of ripe dark berry fruits, blackcurrants and plums with mint and varietal leafy notes. The palate is plush with flavours balanced by fine, textural tannins.

The combination of different terroirs elicits wonderfully concentrated, expressive wine.

Very Bordeaux-like, with big, ripe perfumed fruit bouquet showing a cedary edge. Wonderful flavours fill the mouth and are supported by tannins.

This is a wine of great intensity. It has distinctive blackcurrant and cassis fruit flavours. Subtle oak characters of cedar cigar box and spice are also evident. The tannins are fine and elegant - a hallmark of the varietal. The palate is well balanced, complex and fulfilling and lingers on the finish.
